Deacon Bill Singleton
Psalm 41: 1-3

Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the Lord delivers him in times of trouble.

The Foes of the Righteous

The Lord will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desires of his foes. The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him from his bed of illness. Many are the foes of the righteous, but blessed is he who is called by God’s name. We are called by God’s name but more importantly we have been chosen by God to be his children. As God’s people, we may be sick but not die, we may be down but not out, we may be going through but not alone, because God is always there to deliver us from anything that we go through. God said in his word in Hebrews 13:5b “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” We, the people of God can always stand on His promises.

Prayer

Loving and kind God in whose name we are called, we thank you for always being there with us. We thank you for your promise to never leave us alone. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Thought for the day

You never stand alone in all that you go through. God is always there with you.
