My eyes grow heavy watching for some sign of your promise; how long must I wait for your comfort?

A watched pot never boils.... 

Have you ever watched a pot waiting for it to boil? Then you will understand what it means to wait for a sign of God’s promises. Your pot is on the stove, but the water is slow to boil? Your eyes have become so heavy from watching that you just want to take a nap? But, what have you placed in the pot? Let’s see doubt, fear, worry, depression, addiction, sorrow, loss, anger, frustration. Did I get your ingredients? Don’t get discouraged waiting, the pot will boil in God’s time. Do you want deliverance then turn up the heat!

God wants us to rest on his promises. Escape from our human desires. A hopeful future! Power and strength! Supply for all our needs! Victory, peace and love! So if there is any encouragement or comfort for us today. If we have grown weary waiting. If we are uncomfortable or afflicted know there is consolation God promised to give us comfort. How long? Not long! Don’t grow weary! Go to sleep and wait on God’s pot to boil!

Prayer 

Lord we need watch no longer for a sign from you
For you amaze us by all that you do
Lord remind us to rest in the promises you give
A life of comfort for as long as we live
Lord let your spirit enable us to see
That waiting on you is the key
Lord we thank you for the heat within
Knowing you will comfort us again and again.
