Holy Communion
- Celebrating 50 years of excellence in Ministry!!

Oh! The different sizes, shapes, shades and textures are amazing! There is a farmer’s market in Decatur, Ga. which offers a wide variety of fresh meat, seafood and produce from all around the world. Yet, despite its diversity, it is not the foodstuffs that are the amazing aspect of the market. Instead, it is the variety of people which makes the market a joy to behold.

On any given day, it is possible to interact with many different ethnicities from all over the world. This is true of both vendors and patrons. Many say that one of the enjoyable aspects of going to the market is the fellowship. It is a beautiful sight to witness people of varied ethnic backgrounds communing together under the pretense of shopping. The market affords people who have different heights, weights, skin tones, eye colors, hair texture and color, facial features, attire, customs and languages to commune together in harmony.

Isn’t that reminiscent of the Day of Pentecost as recorded in Acts? There, a diverse group of people gathered and received the Holy Spirit. What if everyday was Pentecost? Oh, what a joy that would be! Maybe the people of Decatur, Ga. are on to something.

Prayer

Lord God Almighty, we pray for the day that all people will gather as one to commune, fellowship and worship You. Amen.

Thought for the day

One God, One people.
