Day 10: Counting down to our Jubilee! 

This Scripture written by Paul has been an important part of my life as a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. When I joined in 1982 I thought I was a reader of God's Word, but I learned through sermons that I needed more. I started Christian Education classes and this was the start of my "true" relationship with God. I found that reading God's Word alone was not enough--I needed to Read It! Study it! and Memorize It! As I grew in Christ this became even more important in my call to ministry. How can you have wisdom, knowledge and understanding concerning our realities? I believe it is through a healthy balance in living and "rightly dividing" God's Word.

As we celebrate our Year of Jubilee, I'm reminded that Trinity UCC provided this for me and still provides it as we go forth in our next years. It is my prayer that each Christian will examine themselves in growth and power in God's Word. I'm a living witness that the Word of God is a sword you will need in effective spiritual warfare. (Heb. 4:12; Eph. 6:12).

Prayer 

"Almighty God, you are the God to those that seek you, so I pray that all of your people will grow in your Word…Read It!, Study It! and Memorize It! so in their time of need they will have the power of the Holy Spirit to meet their needs. I pray, Oh God, that you will send your anointing power in the name of Jesus, our LORD."
