1Peter 2:21
This is the kind of life you've been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step. He never did one thing wrong, Not once said anything amiss. They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right. He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing. You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you're named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls.
Scar tissue
Up for a quick lesson in physiology?
Scars are the body's response to injury. When the body is injured, it attempts to repair the injured site as quickly as possible. Our Creator designed the body with an ability to restore tissue (in many instances) to its previous state. But more commonly, the tissue is replaced with an inferior barrier of scar tissue which cannot fully replace the missing tissue. Scars areas are often poorly supplied with blood, which is why the scar appears paler than the surrounding tissue. Is there a scar on your body some where? Take a look at it. Notice how it appears different than the surrounding skin. You’re probably asking, where is she going with this? Just hold on, I’m getting to it.
When it comes to internal scar tissue, there is usually an adhesion formed. An adhesion is a bond between two things which were not previously joined. Adhesions are often quite painful, because they restrict the freedom of movement.
The amount of scar tissue is determined by the size, depth, and location of a wound! Huh Oh, I think we have arrived at our appointed destination.
Question; have you ever been wounded? How long ago was the incident and how deep did the injury go? Have you honestly, let it go? I speak not of a physical aliment, a condition where an MD had to perform surgery or where a stint in the hospital was required. I speak of an incident that struck at the inner core of you. When hurt deeply, many times we will cover up our pain with an inferior barrier (an adhesion) that becomes a way of not dealing with the pain. We’ll rush into another relationship, find a different vice or develop unhealthy dependencies. I admit it, I’m guilty myself of developing some “adhesions”, a bonding with some things I thought would help alleviate the hurt but only became twisted mergers. It not only restricted my movement to grow spiritually, it allowed me to build layers upon layers of scar tissue over the original emotional wound.
How do we heal? Some years ago I did have to under go a physical surgery. After it was all over the doctor informed me that before he could get at the root of the real problem, he had to remove some old scar tissue that was in the way. Before healing could take place, some old stuff had to literally be cut out of me. God is the Master Physician. Just like in His infinite wisdom to physiologically design the body to heal itself, He also realized that some times some reconstructive surgery is needed upon our spiritual being.
Prayer
Father please guide us into the surgical realm found through intimacy with You. Allow Sister Holy Spirit to apply general anesthetic, which allows us to let go of any hindrances that will impede total submission. Then allow the Master Physician, Dr. Jesus MD, to perform surgery, to cut deeply and clear away scar tissue, so His Blood flow can move into those secret places we keep hidden from the rest of the world.
