Dr. Laura Lea
John 14:1-14 NRSV

In my father’s house there are many dwelling places (John 14:2.)

A Prepared Dwelling Place

As the Holy Spirit leads and guides us; the Power of the Presence of God is revealed unto us in prayer. The Power and Presence of God brings about a change in our lives and circumstances. We develop in our relationships with God, when we pray. Prayer ushers us into the presence of Jesus in the Kingdom of God. We then desire to do God’s will, working in the vineyard seeking to tell everyone we meet about the truth of God that is revealed unto us through the scriptures and prayer. Jesus, teaches us that He is the truth; “I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6.)

There are times when life gives us a turn and we may doubt if God is hearing our prayers. We seek him both day and night and find that nothing changes and often time’s things seem to get worse. It is at this time when we want to give up, but if we hold on to our faith in Jesus, in the storms of life, he will not let us down nor will He forsake us. If we pray to the Lord, praise Him and seek His face, in all circumstances, leaning on His everlasting arms, we will indeed find refuge in Jesus. Jesus said I will provide an advocate to be with you forever the Holy Spirit who will abide with you and in you. Jesus admonishes us not to worry; “do not let your hearts be troubled, but to believe in God and the Son of God”. Do not worry but believe; the word of God. Search and read the word because in the word you will find your answers. Jesus said in my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. Let us not dwell in doubts and fears that are presented to us daily in this world to destroy our faith let us find the dwelling places in the Kingdom of God; all goodness and righteousness and truth. (Ephesians 5:9)

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus hear my prayer, I believe you are a friend when I have no friend I believe that I can turn to you when I am in need of a blessing. Forgive me Lord of my doubts and fears when the times are difficult. Forgive me of my sins Lord and bless me I pray. Lead and direct me into your dwelling place of peace, all goodness and righteousness and truth.

Thought for the day

Do not worry, believe in Almighty God. Believe in the dwelling place of peace; all goodness and righteousness and truth. Let us all have faith in God! That God hears and answers our prayers! And the evidence! Is that God changes things!
