Proverbs 6:8

All summer it stores up food; at harvest it stockpiles provisions.

Summer Storehouse

Summer is the season with the longest (and warmest) days of the year (365 days), in which daylight predominates? Summer for some of us is a time of relaxation where we take off on vacation, attend outdoor gatherings, basically we spend our time going from one activity to another without any real focus. Well in terms of summer I would like us to consider the grasshopper and the ant. Grasshoppers for instance take time to play hopping from one thing to another. While the ant on the other hand works as a unit in mutual support of each other. What this means in our world is that we still have a lot to learn. So my question is this.......what’s in your storehouse?

My definition of a storehouse would mean that we have to be in the right position in order for God to sustain what he has placed in us for long periods of time. If we are firm then we will be able to return next summer because we have managed to make it season after season. We have proven that even in hardship God’s word is true, and demonstrate it in how we support and encourage one another. We have been consumed by God’s grace and covered with blessings. We have shortened the relationship distance by putting God first in everything we do and say. We are no longer restless and intolerant of of others and exhibit hospitality. We realize delays, anxiety and eagerness only mean that we are about to embark on something new. Yes, God you are getting ready to fill the storehouse of our lives so you can harvest the lives we impact with your love.

Prayer

Lord you know our purpose in your plan
And want us to be prepared and stand
Lord you have given us all we need to survive
And even in trouble we can still thrive
Lord now we welcome all to see
Just how wonderful with you life can be.
