Trust God – “The anti-worry Solution"

”Don’t fret or worry, instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”

The things of life have a way of moving us to places in our hearts and minds which cause us to be overly anxious or to worry needlessly! In this passage of scripture, which is addressed in a letter from Paul to the church he established in Philippi, we find these words of assurance. Paul just happens to be imprisoned physically at this time, however through the Spirit of Christ who strengthens him, his mind, heart and spirit express freedom!

Our relationships with others are sometimes strained due to misunderstandings and a lack of communication. We have moments when those things which need our financial attention, far exceed our resources. We have a sincere desire to truly change our outlook and perspective, but feel bound to our past issues and challenges. We know who we should be and what we should do, but are hesitant due to worry about the unknown. All of these situations and circumstances can and will cause us to fret and worry, however none of them are beyond the ever abiding presence of God. How do we have this assurance? It is because we can always and in all ways take each and every one of our concerns to God, who is always ready and willing to hear and answer every prayer. We have within the power to “make our request known to God” because God’s own spirit moves within to ask for what we desire according to God’s perfect plan and will! We have within the Spirit if the living God who is constantly fixing, changing, restoring, revealing, reminding and giving us comforting assurance that all is well! When we make our petitions known, trust God and embrace the ultimate sense of peace, anything and everything which makes us anxious, fret or worry is displaced and replaced with Jesus as our center and our all in all!

Prayer

“Dear loving, gracious, abiding God, thank you that when we allow the things of life to overwhelm us, that we have only to make our concerns and petitions to you, for you already know before we ask, by trusting in you when we pray, you will hear and answer.

Thought for the day

Worrying or being anxious, is like a rocking chair, which keeps our minds and hearts pre-occupied but gets us nowhere.
