Isaiah 3: 22, NIV

“Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he? "

Never Trust Man, Only Trust God

How can we share our personal lives with anyone? How can we seek consultation from the church, or from our doctor or lawyer? A deeper view of this scripture brings me to cut across the field as a guest pastor spoke at my church one Sunday morning. The second sentence of the scripture is the cornerstone of is meaning. It also speaks of discernment by asking the question to what account is he? In other words is he a person of integrity? What are his moral attributes? What is the value of any man or woman that you can be comfortable to trust him with your secrets? Or trust him with your life? In the book of James it states that a double minded person is unstable in all his ways! Can an unstable person be a person of integrity, wisdom and truth?

The answer my brothers and sisters is no! No unstable person has any control over himself no less be someone to whom you can seek the counsel of, but there is one. One who is all wisdom, all truth, all love, all grace, and all mercy, one who never fails. He is the one to whom you can trust your very life to because the life you have already belongs to Him. The answer is easy my brothers and sisters. In Proverbs 3:5 the scripture tells us to trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not to your own understanding. We can trust Lord, He has taken good care of us all these years, there is no reason to not to believe that the Lord will not continue to take care of us unless we don’t know of what account is He?

Prayer

Put all your trust in God.

Thought for the day

Dear gracious God, thank you for another day. Help us to listen to your voice so that we may trust fully in you.
