John 1:6–8 The Message

There once was a man, his name John, sent by God to point out the way to the Life-Light. He came to show everyone where to look, who to believe in. John was not himself the Light; he was there to show the way to the Light.

Neon Arrows

It is currently 1:17 a.m. and I am awake, and on Facebook. What woke me was a dream, and the manner in which I awoke felt strange; it led me to believe that I was awake for a reason. Perhaps this is an opportune moment for me to work on some music? But, given that the dream I had was about this passage of scripture, I wanted to share it, and what the Lord placed inside of me.

The same thing happened with John. John the Baptizer (the Baptist as he is more commonly known) was not an old, gray-headed, family man, and wise sage; John was a young man on a divine assignment at an unseemly time.

During a time in which the only kingdom around was the Roman Empire, John came out of the wilderness and entered the desert land of Judea saying, "Repent and be baptized because the Kingdom of God has come." This message could have gotten him killed, but he boldly proclaimed what God put inside of him anyway.

Sometimes we have to step outside of what is comfortable and proclaim a message that makes no sense, or is against the grain, knowing that God's word will not go forth and return unto him void. All day, every day, we are to show people to the light, and do so boldly. We are to be just like a neon arrow, pointing people to Christ. Note, the arrow never says a word - it only points, and blinks, and glows!

Prayer

Lord, equip me and regulate me, that I may be a neon arrow pointing the world to You. In Jesus name, Amen!
