Walk in the Light

During this Lenten Season, a time of reflection and remembrance, there are many issues that face us daily that threaten to pull us into a deep dark valley of depression where there is no light. There are wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and unrest around the world. There are gang wars and senseless violence right here in our city. There is our failing economy and there are healthcare disparities, education disparities and criminal justice disparities.

The One towards whom our thoughts are directed each day during Lent, however, is the Light of the World. If we wake up each morning during Lent with our minds stayed on God, our daily journey will be a journey of joy and not a lonely trudge of depression. Let us walk in God’s Light and live each day as children of Light.

Prayer

Lord, You said I should let my “little light” shine before others that they may see my good works and glorify You. Please grant me the Grace to let my light shine today.

Thought for the day

Today is the day I will “shine” for Christ!

Today's devotional has been a blessing to me. I am rising up in the morning (Sunday), intent on letting my light shine. No grumpiness for me (smile), because the light of Christ is going to be shining through. Praise God!!
