Ephesians 4:18 (The Message)

They've refused for so long to deal with God that they've lost touch not only with God but with reality itself.

Who’s Calling?

The telephone rings: "Hello," the voice says, "how can I help you? Who is this?" Not recognizing the caller’s voice we hang up. Once again the telephone rings. "Who is this?" Irritated we slam the phone down. Again, the telephone rings: The caller is insistent, but this time we refuse to answer. So, who is calling? God!

We cannot escape the voice of God when he speaks. God speaks with authority to take hold of your understanding. And, since we refuse to take God’s calls he speaks to us in a language we can understand, our circumstances. Have you heard the voice of God lately?

God wants us to learn to recognize his voice when he speaks. We fail to hear what God has to say because we are so convinced we already know what to do. We have put distance between ourselves and God and now we are out of touch. Our circumstances are overwhelming us and desperate we make a long distance call to reconnect. Fortunately for us there is no busy signal, we are never put on hold, and there are no prompts to go through because we are immediately connected to the help line.

The next time God calls, take the call on the first ring, and receive the power to overcome. Ring! "Hello?" You know the caller . . .

Prayer

God speak through our circumstances this day
Make us understand that help is a call away

Thought for the day

God’s help line is open!
