Mark 5:35-42

Believe, Believe, Believe 

The only thing Jesus requires us to do is believe. We are not required to be perfect, nor fear anything . . . we are required to BELIEVE. But, what do you believe? Do you believe that you are in a hopeless situation and there is no way out? Do you believe that your life is over and there is no coming back? Do you believe that nobody cares? Do you believe this is the end of the road for you? Well, I come to give you some good news from the Lord. Jesus tells us not to fear, only believe. In order to believe, one has to find Jesus for him or herself, removing negative people, places and things that obstruct you from following Jesus.

When Jairus' daughter died, Jairus went to the synagogue to find Jesus. Jairus did not hang around negative or pitiful people, he went to find Jesus. When Jairus found Jesus, his friends came to him to tell him that it was to late to talk to Jesus because his daughter had already died. Jesus, overhearing the conversation, told Jairus to come go with him. Jesus said to Jairus, not to fear just believe.

When we have fear, it is a lack of faith. Jairus had faith and went with Jesus. Jairus believed in Jesus, not knowing what to expect or what was going to happen. He went, wholeheartedly believing in Jesus. When they arrived at the home, Jairus' daughter was indeed dead. Jesus took only Jairus and his wife into the room where the little girl lay. Jesus told her to "get up" and immediately the little girl got up and began to walk.

Nothing is impossible for our Lord. Have no fear, follow Jesus, and believe.

Prayer 

Lord we ask that You forgive us for not believing in You. We have lost hope and doubted You on many occasions. We have let fear take over and push us in the wrong direction. God we have believed in people and not believed in You. Please forgive us. Restore our faith and take away our fear. God where we don’t believe, strengthen our belief. Amen.

Thought for the day 

Where we have doubt and fear, call on the Name of Jesus and he will restore us back to life.
