Psalm 119:35 (The Message)

Guide me down the road of your commandments; I love traveling this freeway!

Road Trip!

The wonder of technology now enables us to travel from one place to another with the use of voice commands or the push of a button. However, this method is not always accurate and sometimes we still find ourselves lost. So what do we do . . . we ask for directions. Well, the same holds true for traveling down the road of life ─ we need to ask for direction.

In this scripture David is praying for divine guidance along the path of faithfulness. He promises a lifetime of devotion to God’s teaching, but only as God leads, instructs, and makes the directions plain. For us, the roadmap is the Bible where the directions are clear and precise. The road we are traveling requires that we study the roadmap and to follow directions so that we will not get lost along the way.

With God in control of the final destination, we may experience traffic jams but we will ultimately get where God wants us to go. This doesn’t mean there will be no cost; there will be tolls to pay. How do you pay? Pray for direction, study to show yourself worthy (read your Bible and go to Bible classes) and then be still and listen for direction. And then you can confidently, and faithfully, take the road that has been designated for you to follow.

Prayer

Lord we pray for Your guidance this day
We can’t make it any other way
Lord the road is clear
Help us to trust and not fear
Lord when we go a little too fast
Remind us that You’ve led us in the past
Lord may we take pleasure in traveling with You
Because you promise to see us through!

Thought for the day

Travel God’s Way!
