Psalm 148: 1

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights!

ALL of Them

Last year, I took my niece out to purchase a toy of her choice. When we got to the store, she pulled out a number of items that she liked. Once she had determined those she liked most, I asked her, “Which one would you like?” Unable to make up her mind, she responded by stating, “Auntie, I want all of them.”

Psalm 148, is a psalm of praise. The psalmist calls for all of creation to praise the Lord. He doesn’t just ask one aspect of creation to praise, however, the psalmist asks the angels, the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the animals, creeping things, kings and Israel to praise the Lord! He doesn’t leave anyone or anything out , because he is well aware that God desires praise from all of them.

Advent is a season of praise. It is a time for all of creation to praise and exalt the Lord for God’s faithfulness! It is the season that we praise God for His Son, Jesus Christ!

Prayer

God, we praise You! We praise You with our entire being for Your goodness, mercy and faithfulness toward us! You are great! You are wonderful! And we exalt Your Name!

Thought for the Day
Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord!
