Rev. William E. Hall

Matthew 6:12

As we forgive those who trespass against us…..

“Let It Go”

In life we will encounter painful moments. Some of the most painful memories have occurred at the hands and mouths of people who you trusted, loved, and befriended. As you read this devotion, your soul cries out with pain. From this day forward, you must remember people are not perfect, nor do they have the capacity to love you, care, and lift you the way God can.

“Can’t nobody do you like Jesus, He’s your friend”

When you forgive someone, you give your pain to God, and you grant mercy to those who hurt you. Often times we express to God our pain, but we never grant mercy to our brother and our sister. Mercy does not mean you are weak, shallow, or stupid, rather mercy means you will not retaliate and react to their actions. There are some actions you will never understand, however every now and then you must echo the words of Jesus on the cross, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do. If people knew how valuable and powerful you are, most people would never harm you.

When you give your pain to God, it makes room for God to heal those things that hurt your soul. God is indeed a healer, and God will put your soul, back in order.

Prayer

Lord you know my pain, and you know those who hurt me. Teach me how to live in spite of my pain, and help me let go of the offense. –In Jesus Name

Thought for the day

Let all of your pain and questions rest in the hands of God. Release those who hurt you to the love of God, and not the wrath of God……
