Reflections In this passage of scripture, the psalmist found himself in a desperate situation, but God granted the psalmist the victory over his circumstances. How many desperate situations have we found ourselves in, only to watch God make the seemingly impossible possible? How many times have we defied death or dead-end situations, knowing that it was only a God who could have saved us? How many times have we realized, if only we had allowed God to handle the situation in the first place, we would have been much better off? Moving from membership to discipleship requires that we be a people of faith. Once we become more disciple and less of a member we will learn what the psalmist meant when he stated, “the Lord is my strength and my refuge and has become my salvation”. When we become disciples, we recognize all the things the Lord has done for us and marvel at the fact that God saved us, delivered us, kept us, rescued us, healed us, strengthened us, cared for us and loved us. With this in mind and in our hearts, we can begin each day by saying, “This is the day the Lord has made, let me rejoice and be glad in it!” Prayer Lord, as I look back over my life, I rejoice in knowing that you have done marvelous things for me. Each day I will reflect on how you have been with me and I will sing with the Psalmist, “This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Amen. Thought for the Day Each time you think of something you appreciate in your life, say a prayer of thanksgiving. |

This daily devotion so touched my heart because it is my favorite verse and song that I say and sing each day. We should all rejoice for each day God allows us to experience life on this earth. I will pass this on to my loved ones.
